Tour Description
What you will see and experience during this tour
Start the Day
We’ll pick you up from your hotel at 8:00 am for a relaxing 1.5-hour drive to Ba Ria Central Market. Along the way, we’ll stretch our legs and meet your local guide for the Long Tan – Nui Dat area. The guide will provide an introduction to Ba Ria and its history. Our first stop is the Phuoc Long Tunnels, a 1.4km tunnel system where you’ll hear fascinating stories about the Viet Cong’s life during the war. You’ll also learn about Vietnam’s cashew nut industry.
Explore Nui Dat & Luscombe Airfield
Next, we’ll visit Nui Dat, the former base of the Australian Army. The guide will share important historical details, helping you imagine what life was like during that time. We’ll also visit Luscombe Airfield, preserved in a small village, where you’ll hear stories associated with this significant site. There’s also a visit to a kindergarten built by Australian Veterans.
Long Tan Cross & Horseshoe Hill
Our journey continues to the Long Tan Cross, a moving part of the tour where we’ll honor those who lost their lives. We’ll perform a ritual ceremony with flowers and incense. Afterwards, we’ll view Horseshoe Hill from the main street, as the area is protected due to unexploded bombs and landmines.
Discover Vung Tau City
After exploring Nui Dat, we’ll head to the coastal city of Vung Tau. Here, we’ll enjoy a delicious lunch with a sea view. Post-lunch, we’ll visit Vung Tau’s highlights, including a climb to the top of the lighthouse for a panoramic view of the city and the East Sea. We’ll also visit the White Palace, once the residence of the last King Bao Dai.
Wrapping Up the Adventure
Before we head back to Ho Chi Minh City, we’ll stop to take a photo with the famous Statue of Jesus on top of the hill. We’ll return to HCMC around 5:00 pm, dropping you off at your hotel or another convenient location. Don’t forget to ask our guide for recommendations on other places to explore in the city!
